"Be tolerant of THE SKIPPER who disagrees with you... The Schipperke has a right to his Ridiculous Opinion." Our 'Skipper' A New Mexican Schipnic

It's not very schipperkee-ish, but this is a fun link to wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
This week our first and eldest schipperke, Skipper, turns twelve. Here's a link to his birthday party two years back...
Animal Loss Minimal in the tsunami disaster (now 114,000 death toll). After reading about the earth's "ringing bell effect" of earthquakes [see FRESHCHAOS.com entry for 12/28/04] and now reading that animals apparently ran to higher ground way ahead of their human counterparts, it makes me wonder why our most sensitive of the three Schipperke dogs, Skipper, aka the "canine barometer," has been hiding under beds and tables and staying very close to us these last few days. THE SCHIPPY 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS
(Thanks to schip slaves Jerry & Peggy Funk) On the first day of Christmas my schippy gave to me The angel from the top of the tree. On the second day of Christmas my schippy gave to me Two broken bulbs And the angel from the top of the tree. On the third day of Christmas my schippy gave to me Three opened presents Two broken bulbs And the angel from the top of the tree. On the fourth day of Christmas my schippy gave to me Four crumpled cards ... On the fifth day of Christmas my schippy gave to me Five shredded stockings ... On the sixth day of Christmas my schippy gave to me Six wreaths a-fraying ... On the seventh day of Christmas my schippy gave to me Seven yards of ribbon ... On the eighth day of Christmas my schippy gave to me Eight slept-on silk things ... On the ninth day of Christmas my schippy gave to me Nine chewed up candles ... On the tenth day of Christmas my schippy gave to me Ten bubble lights a-leaking ... On the eleventh day of Christmas my schippy gave to me Eleven strands of wiring ... On the twelfth day of Christmas my schippy gave to me Twelve schippy kisses and I forgot all about the other eleven days. Tuesday, December 21, 2004
AIR JORDAN to the rescue... This week late one night or early one morning, 4:30 a.m.-ish, Jordan leapt up in our bed and started to bark. I jumped out of bed and heard what sounded like a rainstorm outside. Reindeer on the roof? Burglars playing in the sprinkler?
No, a huge shower of water was spewing from our laundry room water heater up onto the ceiling and all over the floor! Thanks to Air Jordan this was fixed (temporarily) with a (freezing) barefoot trip to turn the water off at the outside shut-off valve. Miss Melanie remained in her warm bed for the whole ordeal. Afterall, beauty sleep is only effective if continuous. Skipper stood by, but was not called in for Emergency Action. He was ready, though. Friday, December 17, 2004
