THE THREE SCHIPETEERS: and that odd man out, D'Artagnan, PUMA, our Schipperke-friendly cat. You know you've heard it...Crosby Stills Nash and sometimes YOUNG. There are days lately when I can't help thinking about my recent references here at Skippertown to THE THREE. Our black and often magical cat, PUMA is a true sometimes YOUNG to the SUPER GROUP THREE... So here's to C S N and sometimes Y as well as to J S M and sometimes P!! Jordan, Skipper, Mel, and sometimes PUMA!! that is!! The latest about about Melanie involves a little sveral days episode revolving around: FECES. Nice and dry feces, but nevertheless, FECESwake up in the morning glory. This along with...delicately intricate pools of pee. At first I thought Miss Melanie was mad at me... but after several uninterrupted days of waking up to discover FECES and delicately intricate pools of pee... on the grey rug of the pet room, I began to wonder and to take it a bit personally. Deciding on an action plan, I tossed the Pet-Area-Walmart-Sale grey colored rug into the great rug beyond; and sprung the big bucks for a new one. This time in light green to match the nearby tile floor of the bathroom. PRESTO... The early morning pattern of FECES and delicately intricate pools of pee... vanishes. MERRY SCHIPPERMAS filled with Biscuits Chewies and NASCARS-A-PLENTY. Here at SKIPPERTOWN, THE THREE had a blast ! They played out their individual roles for Dickens' THREE GHOSTS: SKIPPER always the wise sage, appreciative of the past's many blessings and passings; MELANIE ever crying out in the moment for MORE petting...don't stop...BE HERE (petting me) NOW!! JORDAN naturally LEAPING HIGH toward the ever present FUTURE. And let us not forget the great and powerful, PUMA Cat-to-the-Schip-stars. PUMA and AIR JORDAN shared a moment of glory as each had matching green ribbons on all day long. After all they are the only two members of SKIPPERTOWN who actively and openly practice INTER-SPECIES-DATING. It was only natural that they be bedecked with ribbons. Friday, December 21, 2001

Tortilla Snacks
There is a movie out called, Tortilla Soup. It was showing on our long plane flight from the islands last week. I refused to pay five dollars for earphones but took a few free glances at it between cat naps . It occurs to me that SKIPPERTOWN's sister site, BunnytownUSA offers a tortilla story of it's own. The bunnies LOVE bread. It is often just as cheap to buy wholesome corn tortillas here in New Mexico than it is to buy a loaf of chemicalized white bread. Bottom line for is that one of THE THREE also has a fondness for all-things-bread. That would be...hmmm...who can leap over the wall into BUNNYTOWN without breaking a milisweat? AIR JORDAN that's who... If it suddenly grows quiet in the backyard when THE THREE are having a 'walk about', I can guess that Jordan is having a snack...not succulent rabbit...just good old tortilla soup!! Just gave THE THREE a post vacation bath.
Each has a different reaction to this ordeal. Miss Mellie LOVES the entire process. Skipper is nervous whenever water is turned on anywhere on the entire property. Terrified when the bath itself is unleashed. Once he is immersed in the warmth of the bath though, he actually likes it but doesn't let on that he does. Jordan loves it when the other dogs are getting bathed and dried off. He loves to come over and lick and say Ha Ha...He is less enthusuastic while in the bath himself, however. And he is a bit unsure the purpose behind the ordeal of drying off with a towel vs. just running outside or around the house to dry himself off. He is after all a manly man sort of Schip! We are back and the three schips are a welcome home
that is much needed after a GLORIOUS Hawaiin-offline-from-the-world-Break. Hawaii is a tough place to leave behind. The wondrous tail wags and leaps of joy and the news that all went well in our absence though, makes coming back to winter a more bearable thing. More soon...Keep coming back ...it wags.
